Maritimo's big plans for Sanctuary Cove

Eleven boats on show in May

Maritimo is gearing up for an impressive 11 boat display at this year's Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show on the Queensland Gold Coast in May.

The highlights will be the new Maritimo 47 Sports Cabriolet, powered by Volvo Penta IPS drives, and the company's flagship M73 Motoryacht which has already secured orders from across Australia and from the US and Singapore since its release in July last year.

It will be Queenslanders first chance to inspect the luxurious M73.

Maritimo's marketing director Luke Durman says other highlights will include the new 470 Offshore Convertible sportsfisher and the amazing manoeuvrability given by the new Volvo Penta IPS drive system.

Durham says the slow-speed control given by the forward-facing pod system clearly provides many owners in the mid-range market with an added sense of security.

"Our design team is also taking advantage of the added space offered admidships to provide more cabin space in these boats," Durham says.

"We believe Volvo Penta IPS and Maritimo's renowned quality boat building will be an attractive combination for the market."

The C47 Sports Cabriolet is among a raft of new models Maritimo plans to launch in the 40-50 foot range over the coming 12 months.

The new 470 Offshore Convertable enclosed flybridge model is a three cabin/twin bathroom luxury cruiser and sportsfisher that joins the successful 500 and 550 models already available in the line.

Durham says the cruiser/sportsfisher has become a strong sector of the luxury boating market both here and overseas. He says Maritimo's enviable reputation for long-range luxury cruisers is now being expanded into the mid-range sportfish market.

"With an internal staircase to the enclosed bridge, aft helm position and a large fishing-friendly cockpit, the 470 Offshore Convertable is aimed at people who love both cruising and the thrill of big game fishing," Durham says.

The luxury flagship M73 Motoryacht is certain to be as big a drawcard as it was at the Sydney Boat Show last year where long queues of awestruck boaters waited to inspect the luxurious and spacious interior, the vast cockpit and the impressive, full-beam master stateroom.
