Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (October 31-November 4) is one of the largest boat shows in the world and a launch platform for latest and most stunning craft you will find anywhere in the world.
Australian luxury cruiser manufacturer Maritimo has a strong presence and execs at the company are confident of some good interest in their boats at the show and following subsequent sea trials.
Maritimo’s sales and marketing manager, Greg Haines, said the company has the M58 cruising motoryacht on display along with the M45 and the M50.
"We have already taken orders on two S58 cruisers, one here and one in the USA, and we haven’t even formally launched the boat as yet so we are quietly confident," he said.
"We saw continued positivity in Cannes in September and I think that we will see that level of renewed enthusiasm spill over into Fort Lauderdale.”
Maritimo’s USA President Dave Northrop said after a ‘long dry spell’ the industry in the USA is improving and many people who have held off upgrading their boat or even purchasing a vessel at all are now back looking and active.
"The full beam master suites in the new generation Maritimo’s are an absolute hit and we think the M58 will continue to see its popularity increase with more sales this year at Fort Lauderdale."
Mr Haines said Maritimo’s sea-keeping abilities and the fuel efficiency of its vessels compared to the competition were big draw cards for buyers.
"They know in the States that we build our boats Aussie tough and they know they can perform in heavy seas and they now see the levels of comfort and the fit outs are five star so it’s a winning package,” he said. "We are quietly confident."
