Maritimo M65 proving popular

The boat that Maritimo calls its ‘mega-cruiser’ has found three homes before the first one is even launched

Proving that size does matter, the all new Maritimo M65 cruising motor yacht, which can be powered by four engines, is proving popular with big boat enthusiasts.

Already three of the vessels have been sold, ahead of production, and there has been strong interest with more sales predicted in coming months, according to Maritimo’s sales and marketing manager Greg Haines.

"This is a serious motor yacht and the interest we have had in this new model has been tremendous," he said.

"The three we have sold are going to South Australia, Gold Coast and Brisbane owners and we feel confident that when prospective buyers can actually see the finished product there will be a wave of further sales."

"This is a go-anywhere motoryacht which can accommodate a family in style, safety and comfort for some genuine blue water passage making."

Mr Haines said the power options ranged from twin 900hp Volvo motors through to four 700hp Volvo motors and various options in between.

"With our super-efficient shaft drive and hull design technology we are able to deliver even better fuel consumption figures than our competitors using pod-drives across the full range of Maritimo models and the M65 will be no exception," he said.

"With fuel capacity of 6300 litres we have estimated that this vessel will have a range of 600 nautical miles at a speed of 21-22 knots. This gives it some serious cruising capacity."

The M65 motor yacht will have four main cabins including a full-beam master and full-beam en suite. The VIP cabin is the same size as the master cabin on the previously released M60. A crew cabin is optional.

Catering is a breeze with a massive galley with the option of side-by-side domestic sized refrigerators. Miele appliances are standard.

Room to relax and kick back is no problem with the lounge in the saloon being three metres long.

Mr Haines said the flybridge was larger than the saloons on most boats and there were options for convertible berths, relocatable tables and a wet bar.

"I can see owners relaxing on the aft balcony, overlooking others playing in the water with all the amenities of the saloon at hand," he said.

"The flybridge on this vessel is really like the second storey of an apartment, it is massive and can be used for additional sleeping quarters or entertaining.

"Some of our buyers like the idea of having a separate area for their teenage children to have their own space," Mr Haines concluded.
