"I want one just like that"... One of luxury-boat manufacturer Maritimo’s most successful models, the M58 cruising motoryacht, which was given a complete upgrade to create a Generation Two model for this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, has proven a runaway success.
The M58 has sold exceptionally well throughout the world with its large full-beam master suite setting it apart from competition internationally and the new version fully optioned for the recent show has resulted in multiple orders.
Maritimo sales and marketing manager, Greg Haines, said the vessel on display at Sanctuary Cove featured all the optional extras including wenge timbers and customers who have signed up since have taken the whole package.
The original M58 has been refined with new dashboards, recessed steering wheels, new master bathroom, increased lounges and a choice of different timber finishes including Euro beech, myrtle, teak and wenge in both satin and gloss.
“The model we displayed included a variety of optional extras such as the Bang and Olufsen audio visual package, the wenge-timber finish, superior leathers and expansive lounges, a full array of the latest Garmin marine electronics and a lot of other additions right down to super capacity icemakers, retractable freshwater wash down, pressure cleaner and storage for fishing and dive gear,” Mr Haines said.
“Our last two sales have been for the complete package, they want the exact same boat with all the bells and whistles.”
He said even the engine-room liner in the M58 Generation Two is new and provides a cleaner crisper finish, with optional Seadek foam flooring.
“The master bathroom in the M58 has also been upgraded, ”Mr Haines said. The refinements are said to come from feedback from existing owners and Maritimo’s ongoing review and improvement program, but we know Haines himself has been instrumental in the new look and level of fit-out as well.
The new helm on the M58 is designed to complement the new array of glass helm electronics from the likes of Garmin and Simrad. “We have redesigned the dashes so that the displays are directly in front of the helmsman, and they will take up to three 17 inch displays,” he said.
"The response to the fully optioned version we released at Sanctuary Cove has been amazing,” Mr Haines said, adding that the next two M58s due out of the Gold Coast yard would head to Fiji and Florida.
