Located at Hope Island, alongside the Maritimo factory, Ormonde Britton’s Maritimo Gold Coast has proved a popular dealership for Maritimo customers. Ormonde has now extended his service to take on the Maritimo dealership at Runaway Bay and become the sole dealer principal for Queensland.
After the retirement of the previous dealer principal at Runaway Bay, Ormonde identified an opportunity to strengthen the service offered by his team, and position the Runaway Bay office as predominately a brokerage specialist, and a consultancy for new boat sales.
Service teams continue at both locations by retaining the strength of current long-term sales consultants, Justin Thorpe and Tony Jones. Justin will continue to operate out of the Hope Island office alongside Ormonde with Tony heading up the Runaway Bay dealership as sales manager.
Presenting as a stand-alone brokerage, Britton Marine Sales (BMS) Runaway Bay, has the advantages of a full service retailer offering excellent on-water accessibility for boat tests, marina berthing and a marine maintenance and service facility for Maritimo customers.
Tony Jones, has been with Maritimo Gold Coast for over six years and said it is a great opportunity to take the existing dealership to new heights.
"I’ve had a nice welcome back to the marina after having spent most of my time here operating my boat detailing and maintenance business before I came on board with Maritimo," said Tony.
"It’s a real vibrant environment with lots to offer and we encourage owners to berth on B arm out the front of our office if they require someone to look after their vessel. There are also several Maritimo getaways planned between the offices."
In addition to the freshly refurbished premises, BMS also offer factory-backed service on call, can organise shipping and export to NZ and have other premium brand, pre-loved models amongst its listings.
"We’ve also had two new consultants bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the BMS team with Nathan Trevena who has a passion for big boats, coming from a background in commercial marine sales. Then Michelle Dickens who has over 25 years in the Australian / NZ marine industries and has covered everything from crewing on luxury yachts to running her own brokerage."
After being appointed as sales manager for Maritimo Australia and New Zealand in November last year, Ormonde also oversees all new boat sales to ensure the first-class level of service is consistent for each customer.
Ormonde says the Hope Island dealership will continue to focus on new boat sales and utilise the advantage of having immediate access to the factory and boat builders to ensure that every aspect of their clients’ new boats are going according to instructions.
“We pride ourselves on our integrity and ability to be a valued resource to our customers. Selling or buying a boat is intrinsically about the relationships between the Maritimo consultant, buyer and the factory. We all need to work well together to provide the buyer with the best boat for their situation and we are well-equipped to do this," said Britton.
"It's really about offering Maritimo customers as many options as possible when it comes to buying or selling their boat and being able to provide and maintain the best possible experience across the board no matter whether they deal with myself or Tony and the team at BMS."
