Marine parks "morally indefensible"

Professor says national marine reserves are a farce
Drawing the Line is a new thought-provoking video questioning the effectiveness of marine parks in mitigating the actual risks to our marine environment.
Professor Colin Buxton supports the establishment of a network of small reserves for ecological research, not large reserves that do not address the major threats to our marine ecosystem.
Professor Buxton says the Federal Labor Government's approach to the new marine park network is "morally indefensible."
Professor Buxton is the Director of the Tasmanian Aquaculture and Fisheries Institute. He has published widely in his field and is an author of 115 publications, 67 in peer reviewed literature.
He is a frequent consultant and advisor to governments and other public and private agencies in Australia, Africa and The United States.
Hear what he has to say about the commonweath marine parks at the video below or go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&;v=Dxxic91-Wpw.
