American marine toilet company Raritan has released a new marine manual freshwater head that will forever banish the stench associated with saltwater manual heads and the expense of electric heads.
Raritan says boat owners don't have to live with rotten egg smell or resort to using their shower head to the flush the (salt water) toilet thanks to its new Fresh Head.
The Fresh Head is said to be first manual marine toilet that utilises pressurised fresh water, eliminating calcium deposits in the discharge hose and helping remove any odours.
With a diaphragm-type pump and telescopic handle, flushing is said to be extremely easy. Owners choose how much water is needed. A lever allows water into the bowl to pre-wet it for a better flush. Backflow is prevented with a built-in vacuum break and a lock-out feature.
Fresh Head's footprint serves as a direct replacement for competitive models, Raritan says. No thru-hulls are necessary when installed with a holding tank. This low-water use toilet is also available as a left-hand side pump.
Raritan manufactures equipment in the USA for pleasure boats throughout the world. The company's products include marine toilets, waste treatment systems, icemakers and water heaters that are designed to help maintain an environmental balance and ensure the quality of marine waters.
