The Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show opens tomorrow (Friday, October 10) and runs all weekend. Gates will open at 9.00am and close at 6.00pm on Friday and Saturday and the show is open from 9.00am till 5.00pm on Sunday. Entry costs $18 for adults, $16 concession and kids under 16 get in for free.
Many companies are using the show to introduce new boats to the WA market. For a snapshot of just some of the new boats on display click here.
Recognised as more than just a boat show, the Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show is designed as a fun, casual, family day out.
Show Director Peter Wood said he was pleased to have fishing star Paul Worsteling coming back to Mandurah: "Paul is great for the Show. He has amazing and entertaining stories to tell, and loves to have a chat to his fans," he said.
"He will be at the Show all weekend, so make sure you come down and say hello," Wood added.
Other attractions at the Show this year will include Club Marine’s Bart Beek on stage presenting cooking demonstrations; fishing demos in the Aquatank; kayak rides and boat demos; plus heaps more activities for the kids.
In keeping with the idea of family fun, Mandurah Boat Show is a 'vehicle' to encourage families to get out and about – and get into boating and fishing.
The Lifestyle Stage will be a hive of activity all weekend. Cooking demos, special guest presenter ex-Olympian and fishing author Emma George, fashion parades, safety info, flare demos, games and much more.
"This year the Show will continue the theme of family fun and family recreation activities," Wood said.
"We will be developing the event with this theme to offer more for families and children, with a number of activities and attractions on offer."
THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY
A really exciting and innovative boat on display will be the Nauti-Craft 2Play (pictured), an eight-metre prototype catamaran featuring all new Nauti-Craft suspension.
Nauti-Craft Suspension Systems represents a major breakthrough in the marine industry, with new technology that enables a significant departure from conventional marine architecture principles. The Nauti-Craft system separates the vessel’s hulls from the deck and superstructure via a 'passive reactive' hydraulic suspension system. The hulls react and conform to the ocean surface leaving the deck and superstructure with improved stability, a more level attitude and better ride.
Check out the 2Play on water, and watch regular demonstrations of the new suspension. Check out the video here: http://youtu.be/Nor6h3c8TYc
Plus for those who are into extreme water sports, or like to check out something a little different, don’t miss the new Jetsurf demos on the water, and the very exciting Jet Xtreme, which will surely impress kids and adults alike.
THE LATEST OUTBOARDS
West Australian reveal of new Evinrude E-TEC G2
The Mandurah Boat Show will host the West Australian launch of the new Evinrude ETEC-G2 that we attended and reported on from America this year. The G2 is already taking the country by storm following its launch at the Sydney Boat Show, and WA audiences will get their chance to experience the future of Evinrude engines close up at the Show.
The new outboard engines boast better efficiency, producing 75 per cent fewer total regulated emissions, 15 per cent better fuel efficiency and 20 per cent more torque than leading four-stroke engines, according to the manufacturer.
Not only that but you can colour-code your engine to the colour of your boat!
The official reveal will take place on Friday.
