Malibu Australia has launched a big makeover of one of its most popular boats on sale, rolling out a number of significant updates to its Wakesetter 22LSV ski and wakesports boat.
Due to arrive in Australian customers' driveways before the end of the year, the Malibu Wakesetter 22 LSV will gain a styling makeover to bring it in line with similar changes introduced to the larger Malibu Wakesetter 25LSV.
That includes a redesigned hull and deck that makes the Malibu Wakesetter 22 LSV, the smallest member of the LSV family, deeper and wider than before. Owners will still have the choice of sitting the boat on either the wakeboard-focussed Wake Plus or waterski-friendly Diamond Cut hull.
Another important update is a walk-through transom, a well-defined soft-grip section of the boat’s transom that is a dedicated path for people moving to and from the swim deck built onto the back of the boat.
Inside the cockpit, a flip-down interior step built into the seatback provides a hardwearing surface so that anyone stepping down from the transom does not have to walk on the Malibu Wakesetter 22 LSV’s upholstery.
The Malibu Wakesetter 22 LSV’s bow lounge also gains a backrest that flips up to create a forward-facing seat once everyone has jumped into the bow lounge. The seat even has fold-down armrests to make it more comfortable. Underway, the backrest can flip up to act as a wind block to the cockpit further aft.
A slide-out bench in the transom includes a flip-out backrest that can drop forward when not used to create a flat table. To port, a section of the lounge flips up aft to create the backrest for another rear-facing seat.
The new Malibu Wakesetter 22 LSV will also come with the choice of a GX tower to replace the G5 tower fitted to the boat as standard. The GX tower can lower, meaning it can fit in tighter spaces than a boat with a fixed tower.
Powering the fresh-look boat will be Malibu's Monsoon range of inboard engines.
The 2023 Malibu Wakesetter 22 LSV, optimised for the Australian market, will be built on Malibu's manufacturing line in Albury.
