This Magnum 51 called Bestia or Beast is one of the head-turning new boats makes a debut at the 2014 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.
Dressed in boy-racer blue, and with twin CAT or MTU 1600-1925hp engines coupled to Arneson surface drives, Bestia is indeed a beast.
With a narrow beam of 3.73m, deep-vee, and very heavy hull, the boat slices through the water at 60-63 knots.
Yet in spite of her compact footprint, the Magnum 51 has 2.12m of headroom and boasts a comfortable double cabin with queen-sized berth, plenty of storage and hanging space, a large head with stall shower, a salon, galley and crew cabin.
The cockpit, with bolster helm and companion seats, also features an L-shaped side and transom seat and sundeck. Displacement is 23,500kg.
According to the CAT fuel-curves, top revs with the biggest C32s will see consumption around 750 litres while cruise at about 50 knots will consume 400 litres per hour.
But the Beast isn't about frugality or austerity. It's all about being seen. And in the boy-racer blue colour scheme on show, the latest Magnum 51 is proving a show stopper.
