Manufactured by Lynx Boats at Port Macquarie, the Outsider Sportsman is quite a headturner. According to the manufacturer, the high bow and cutaway stern translates to a dry ride and effortless planing.
The Outsider Sportsman has a length overall of 6.2m and a beam of 2.65m 5mm plate has been used hull underside, 4mm on the sides, and 3mm on the deck and cabin.
Powered by a 115hp V-four two-stroke Yamaha outboard, the big tinnie is reported to give 30kt-plus performance. A Dunbier tandem multiroller trailer ensures launch and retrieve is hassle-free.
The centre cab features a hardtop, perspex windscreen and roll-up, clear side curtains. Mounted on the hardtop are radio and GPS aerials, navigation lights, and a six-pot rocket launcher.
Inside the centre cab, features of the helm station include padded helm and passenger seating with storage below. Incorporated in the dash is a sports steering wheel, gear and throttle controls, instrumentation, compass, switch panel, GPS, and 27MhZ radio and marine stereo. Below the dash is a mesh storage shelf.
The fully-carpeted, self-draining cockpit is spacious and clutter-free. Sidepockets run both port and starboard, while shelving for an oil reservoir and battery are located against the transom bulkhead. A large livebait tank is incorporated in the transom, with padded cockpit coamings either side.
Forward of the centre cab is a step up to the bow area. The bow features a large anchor well, bollard, bowroller and bowrails. Non-slip grip has been applied around the anchor well, and a mesh storage shelf is located below.
The Lynx 5.7 Outsider Sportsman is available through Boatland Marine, Tuncurry (NSW).
