Luxury day boat brand Pardo locks in 2020 Sydney boat show arrival

Big boat owners are stepping down to day boats, and Italian brand Pardo will be there to help make the decision easier

Luxury powerboat importer eyachts has announced it will add Italian dayboat brand Pardo Yachts to its Australian showroom.

Pardo is a fairly new walkaround day boat brand built by Italian boat-maker Cantiere del Pardo. Sydney-based eyachts said it would have two of the latest models, the Pardo 38 and the Pardo 43, on display at the 2020 Sydney International Boat Show in late July.

“Day boats are becoming more and more popular every year,” eyachts managing director Peter Hrones said in a statement announcing the new brand.

“For many, it has become apparent that more than 80 per cent of their usage is during the day only. And so now we see many moving from bulk and accommodation to simplicity, quality and style.”

Boats built at Pardo include the 38, 43 and 50 walkarounds, available with either outboard or sterndrive engines, and the E60 “Endurance” – featuring an all-weather enclosed saloon and wheelhouse – teased at this year’s 2020 Dusseldorf Boat Show.

The boats all feature clean lines and a reversed wavebreaker-style bows, and anchors that recess into the stem.

“To partner with such passionate owners at Cantiere del Pardo is so refreshing and exciting,” Hrones said.

“People that really love boat design and what they are producing, involving companies like Lamborghini to construct their major moving parts like the carbon T-top and carbon dash that hinges forward for easy technical accessibility.

“I am drawn to this kind of clever engineering and cross-pollination of the world’s best technology.”

Standard equipment on the European-market Pardo 38 includes a carbon-fibre T-top and details, electric heads and a forward sunbed that Pardo says is large enough for three people.

Engine choices on this model range from twin Mercury Verado 300hp or 350hp, or triple 300hp Mercury Verado outboard engines, or twin Volvo Penta petrol or diesel inboard engines ranging from 280hp to 440hp.

The entry-level Pardo 38, named last year as the European boat of the year, includes a master suite built into the bow, and the option of a second cabin with two singles.

Pardo claims the boat will plane at 14 knots, reach a top speed of 50 knots, and provide a range of up to 350 nautical miles depending on engine configurations.

The larger Pardo 43 includes two cabins as standard and features Volvo Penta IPS pod drive systems with joystick controls, and ranging from 380hp to 480hp.

The brand has flagged it will also add a GT line – details on exactly what this is are scarce – in 2021.

Eyachts said it had imported more than 100 day boats to Australia and New Zealand “in recent years”.
