Lowrance has released a major update to its HDS Pro range that it says defines it as a next-generation chartplotter and fishfinder packed with the latest fishing technology.
The enhancements include what Lowrance says is the highest resolution ActiveTarget 2 live sonar and ultra high-definition Active Imaging HD, as well as a new 10-inch display.
The new Lowrance HDS Pro system also integrates with more marine electronics, including Lowrance’s Ghost electric trolling motor, which can only be used in freshwater.
Lowrance says its second-generation ActiveTarget system provides best-in-class resolution, allowing the clearest view of fish and the structure they sit in.

A higher level of detail also allows fishers to spot their lure as it is presented to the fish, and also see in detail how the fish responds.
The Lowrance HDS Pro system will also allow anglers to select different views so they can see forward, below or in a wide arc around the boat.
The new HDS Pro system is compatible with NMEA 2000 engine data, Power Pole shallow-water anchors and Lowrance electronics such as marine radios.
The HDS PRO fishfinder is available in 9.0-inch, 10.0-inch, 12.0-inch and 16.0-inch display sizes and is priced from $3899.
ActiveTarget 2 is an add-on module to the Lowrance HDS Pro, and uses its own transducer. Package pricing for the ActiveTarget 2 module and transducer is from $US1649 (around $A2500).
