Long wait for first 50
While boaters will get the first glimpse of Beneteau's First 50 at the Cannes International Boat Show and the Southampton Boat Show, it won't arrive on Australian shores until March next yearAccording to Beneteau, the First 50 was designed 'to conquer the realm of the sportscruisers - those dream yachts of unique elegance'.
A sleek hull shape, modern appendices (torpedo keel bulb) and their high aspect ratios, and a carbon mast are a feature of this new 50ft sportscruiser.
The cockpit is said to be highly ergonomic, with its double helm position and genoa winches within easy reach. All control lines lead to the coachroof winches.
The deluxe owner's cabin has a private shower and head compartment, as well as two large aft cabins.
