Making her UK premiere at the Southampton Boat Show back in September, the revolutionary new Sunseeker 86 Yacht is touted as a totally new concept, a brand-new-never-seen-before design, with a completely new hull form born as the result of a client looking for new displacement speeds and extended range.
Giving displacement speeds and an extended range, the 86 Yacht is a long-range Sunseeker. Accommodating these needs, the 86 Yacht hull features a flattened aft end which still runs like a true Sunseeker, but can offer the much sought-after 1500 NM range at 10 knots (twin MTU 10V 2000 M94s).
Coupled with an 11,000-litre fuel capacity, the 86 Yacht goes above and beyond any competition, claims Sunseeker.
"The 86 Yacht is the epitome of the Sunseeker concept and innovation. Built to thrill, the 86 Yacht is testament to the dedication and commitment of the team to create the ultimate performance yacht," Sean Robertson, Sales Director of Sunseeker International, said.
DECKS AND BALCONIES
It is not just efficiency that makes the 86 Yacht unique. Much has been emphasised on her special exterior and interior design. Taking the successes from previous models, including the Starboard bulwark balcony seen on the 28 Metre and 40 Metre Yacht, the 86 Yacht also introduces new touches and features to provide maximum comfort to the client.
The 86 Yacht features a large flybridge with sociable seating layout and plenty of sunbathing space. Fold down seats have been added to the aft platform, which introduces an entry-level Beach Club — something you wouldn’t usually find on a yacht of this size. A large, sociable flybridge layout with extensive sunbathing areas and superyacht style wet-bar also provides an exceptional outdoor space, in addition to the foredeck seating area.
The wet bar is a great addition to the flybridge area, which also features a carbon-fibre sliding hardtop.Guest accommodation is designed to be a home from home.
The saloon is said to be large with full-length glazing providing panoramic views and plentiful natural light, while the folding balcony brings the outside in for those relaxing around the large seating area. There is a large yacht feel, with full length glazing to filter plenty of natural light to the interior
LIVEABOARD LAYOUT
The standard layout is well suited to an owner/operator, with incorporated social cooking and dining areas in the saloon. The all-new galley design features a breakfast bar, which adds a refreshing take to a more informal dining option.
If an enclosed galley is preferred, however, this can be specified as an additional option, separating the area from guests during food preparation.
A staircase leads to new architecture on the lower deck, which features for very large en-suite cabins to accommodate eight guests. The full-beam midships master stateroom has been enhanced with useful modifications, including bedside table inserts, luxuroius en-suite bathroom and walk in wardrobe
Other design changes can be noted in the forward VIP cabin, which benefits from its own stair access and private lobby, similar to that of the 28 Metre Yacht.
Offering the most capacious accommodation seen on a Sunseeker of this size before, the 86 Yacht truly epitomises luxury comfort onboard.
The 86 Yacht gains an additional edge over its competitors by offering a garage option to accommodate a Williams 385 tender.
Rather than compromising valuable common area space in the crew mess to allow for this, the 86 Yacht design cleverly reduces the height above the pullman berths while retaining full standing room in the crew cabin.
