Situated close to Hobart Airport in Cambridge amid a high-profile new retail precinct, Lewis Marine said its new dealership is built on a seven-acre waterfront site and features a massive 40-boat showroom (right) with more boats on display outside.
Having recently become a sole Yamaha dealer, Lewis Marine says it also plays host to the full turnout of the company's products.
Lewis Marine said its air-conditioned showroom also has a complete range of boating, watersports and fishing accessories, while the new service department boasts a six-bay workshop including new diagnostic equipment to support the fully trained Yamaha marine service technicians.
The dealership said Hobart is not renowned for its summer conditions with cold, wet and windswept boatyards a common aggravation for potential boat buyers. No longer prepared to battle the temperamental outdoor conditions, owner Hughie Lewis (top) said he set his sights on building a new style of boating retail experience where his customers could stroll around a modern undercover showroom in peace and comfort.
"We've only been open for a short time and the response to our new facility has been fantastic," said Lewis.
"People are now spending hours in our new showroom and enjoy taking their time to go through our extensive boat range. Our new showroom and outdoor boat yard is much more user-friendly than our previous site and with our new facilities, we can now offer a complete professional marine retail and service experience to our customers," he said.
Lewis Marine said the outdoor used-boat yard is floodlit and laid out with an 'after hours' viewing area.
The Lewis Marine dealership says it is located just off the Tasman Highway past the Cambridge Aerodrome. An easy port of call for travelling boaters, Lewis Marine said it is the sole Tasmanian dealer for CruiseCraft and Whittley boats plus the southern state dealer for Quintrex.
