Leisurefest expects big crowds

Boats, 4x4s and caravans on display

With display space almost booked out, the organisers of this year's Leisurefest at Melbourne's Sandown Racecourse are expecting the show to define the country's economic recovery.

The four day display of the latest in camping equipment, RVs, boats, caravans, and 4x4 vehicles will be held at the racecourse from September 30 to October 3.

Leisurefest chairman Ashley Farr says people want to enjoy their hard-earned leisure time and have the money to pay for the best.

"Whether it's a camping or caravanning holiday, a weekend on the boat or a four-wheel-driving adventure, people want to enjoy their leisure time with their families and friends," Farr says.

He says that back by popular demand will be both on-road and off-road vehicle tests on the expansive racecourse grounds and that this year there would also be hands-on lessons in reversing cars and trailers.

Ticket prices are being kept at the same level for the third year in a row with adult entry $12 and children under 15 free when accompanied by an adult.
