King Cat Gets Longer Tail

Gold Coast-based power catamaran manufacturer King Catamarans has added a 1.2m-wide transom extension (marlin board or swim platform, depending on what the customer prefers) to the stern of its King Cat 38

Due to its 5.3m beam, the King Cat 38 has a huge space advantage over a monohull vessel and, says the company, the addition of the transom extension not only creates an even more spacious and user-friendly rear deck, but increases the overall length to 12.7m.

The new transom design also allows for additional seating in the form of a stern-facing bench seat for four adults. Storage for a 300lt icebox is located under the seating and the stainless steel rails surrounding the new platform are fitted with rodholders.

The King Cat 38 even comes with an extended bimini for extra protection from the sun for those using the platform.
