Kawasaki has flagged a number of running changes to its normally aspirated and huffed Jet Ski range for Europe ahead of a potential Australian roll-out.
However, unlike last year’s massive upgrades that included the launch of an all-new 150hp Kawasaki Jet Ski STX 160 entry-level model, next year’s models will feature colour changes and small running changes to equipment levels.
In Europe, the cheapest three-seat STX 160 will swap to a Gelcoat Crystal White and Sunbeam Red colour scheme compared with its current green and black finish it shared with the STX160 X that's not sold here – there's very little interest in the model to justify its inclusion here.
The Kawasaki Jet Ski STX 160X, meanwhile, adopts cruise control, while the more richly equipped and finished Kawasaki Jet Ski STX 160LX – it has a more comfy saddle and Bluetooth audio connection – adopts an Ebony and Candy Lime Green that on paper sounds very similar to what it has now.
The Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra range planned for Europe remains at four models, with the normally aspirated Ultra LX swapping from a yellow to Riptide Torquoise colour scheme, the supercharged Ultra 310X in New Citrus Yellow, and the Ultra 310LX in Metallic Carbon Grey.
At the top of Europe’s Ultra range will be the Ultra 310R in Candy Lime Green, replacing a darker green colour scheme.
Importantly, Kawasaki has committed itself to continue with the world’s only solo stand-up model, the Kawasaki Jet Ski SX-R. It will also adopt the new lime green topdeck, replacing the darker green livery of last year’s model year.
Kawasaki Australia is expected to add the new models to the Australian line-up in about late October or early November.
