Well known for its daring lines, Sealine has dropped the top and turned up the heat in the 50ft sport yacht market with a new C530 described by the company as a "cabrio of the sea."
Officially launched at the 2017 boot Du¨sseldorf show, the new 53 footer continues the UK-founded brand’s reputation for fresh design but with the strong financial backing of the parent company, the German HanseGroup, which acquired the brand in 2013.
With a total length of 16.13 but a height of less than four meters, the proportions of the C530 give the impression of a sleek sports yacht.
The (600hp) IPS 800 propulsion package backs this appearance with a top speed of 34 knots and joystick docking, while large Raymarine displays add to the navigational experience.
THAT SENSE OF FLOATING
But it’s the connection with the environment that is a big point of difference. Full-depth curved glass panes in the saloon reach down to the decks to enhance the experience of, well, floating.
The 360 degree view enables uncompromising yachting experiences in all weather, Sealine says, while the large U-Shape lounge area offers relaxing space near a stylish wine bar.
In fair weather, the sunroof adds to the feeling of freedom and lightness in the saloon, with the aft cockpit is protected by another electric sunroof, which can be opened up to more than two metres.
This way, the entire dinette area can be transformed into a large sun terrace that, together with the convertible bow area, creates two dinette areas, two sunning spots or, alternatively, a mix of both.
THE POOL DECK
Rather than call it a swim platform, Sealine says the hydraulically lowering "pool deck" offers space for the whole family and can carry an up to 3.20m dinghy.
On this so-called pool deck there is also the barbeque, which includes a wet bar with hot and cold water. By the separation of the cockpit and the cooking area, the guests remain undisturbed while food is being prepared.
BELOW DECKS
Below deck, the new Sealine C530 has three cabins that can accommodate up to six people. The master cabin is at the heart of the boat and impresses with high quality materials and large hull windows at sea level, Sealine says. Both cabins have en suite bathrooms.
The third cabin can be ordered with two single beds or with one queen-size bed. The utility room in the very aft of the boat can optionally be built as a crew cabin, too.
THE SPACE RACE
The big selling points here are: the saloon with 360 degree views, the large electric sunroof, covered outdoor area in the stern for dining or sunbathing, and the hydraulically lowerable "pool deck" with barbecue area.
Designed by Bill Dixon, the C530 appears to continue Sealine’s reputation for pushing the boundaries of space in an easily driven IPS-powered hull.
"Sealine motorboats have always been space saving miracles. They really feel much larger than they are," says Dixon, pointing out their best attribute.
