Jeanneau gears up for 2013

"A global strategy"

Following three years of significant investment in new models and innovation, Jeanneau is enlarging its product line up and, says the French boat builder, “strengthening its position in the global market, particularly in emerging markets."

Jeanneau said that each model line will be enlarged. No fewer than nine new models will be presented this year: two new sailboat models and seven new powerboats.

Two large Jeanneau inboard diesel-powered cruisers will be launched at the upcoming Paris and Dusseldorf boat shows: the NC 14 (pic 2) and the Voyage 42 (pic 3).

In the smaller powerboat line up, Cap Camarat (8.5 WA walkaround pictured) and Merry Fisher outboard lines will be enlarged by the addition of five new models.

The Cap Camarat 6.5 will come s a 6.5 CC (centre console), Cap Camarat 6.5 WA (walk around) and Cap Camarat 6.5 DC (day cruiser), plus there will be new Cap Camarat 755 and 855 Marlin models, that is, with a fishing focus.

The Jeanneau sailboat fleet will also be extended. The Sun Odyssey line, from 30 to 50 feet, is adding two major new models: the Sun Odyssey 469 and the Sun Odyssey 41 DS (deck saloon).

Finally, Jeanneau Yachts, one of the world leaders in the 50ft to 57ft yacht segment, will unveil a new round of stylish interiors.

Jeanneau says it is thus strengthening its position in the global sailboat market, with brand positioning of seaworthy boats that sail or cruise with confidence and pleasure.

The new developments rely largely on unique production tooling. Since its creation, Jeanneau has invested heavily in technology and in its state-of-the-art industrial sites.

These include the shipyards in Les Herbiers (France), one of the largest production facilities in Europe, producing boats of over 50 feet, and the ultra-modern production facility in Cholet, where Jeanneau says it has added ISO 9001 and 14001 certification, injection-moulding facilities and a highly developed quality-control system.

Jeanneau tells us that it is also pursuing an aggressive and highly competitive commercial strategy. Jeanneau’s objective is to continue to strengthen its position as a key player in the global market of pleasure cruising.

Over the next couple of weeks, we'll bring you previews of the new boats from the Jeanneau stable.
