Jaguar goes offshore powerboat racing

Luxury car manufacturer Jaguar will have its iconic badge adorn the Australian 222 Offshore Superboat for the 2016 season through a new partnership with Queensland-based Austral Jaguar.

Team 222 Offshore’s newly reconstructed Offshore Superboat intends to compete in 13 races over the next 12 months in the Australian Offshore Superboat Championships and the New Zealand Offshore Powerboat Championships.

There are synergies between the luxury car manufacturer and the 222 Offshore Racing Team. Both machines are not only beautiful to look at, with their sleek lines, but they purr with the unmistakable rumble of engines that thrust you in the back of your seat.

Darren Nicholson, pilot and team owner of 222 Offshore, says he’s excited by the year ahead and looks forward to building on the team’s new relationships and nurturing renewed partnerships.

"It’s a great privilege to have Austral Jaguar onboard as our major partner in 2016. Their Fortitude Valley dealership is the biggest in Queensland and you don’t make it into that position without thinking outside the marketing box, which is evident through their partnership with us this year."

The 222 Offshore team will be working with Austral Jaguar throughout the year in some exciting promotions including which one will get you to 100km/hr quicker, a question that is likely to be answered by the end of the year, we're told.

The 2016 livery for the 222 Offshore Team is complete through its partnership with Gold Coast Wraps. Team 222 Offshore will kick off their 2016 campaign in Taupo, New Zealand, on the January 31. Check out the 222 Offshore Facebook page for updates.
