A jaw-droppingly stunning powered catamaran concept that its maker says sets a new benchmark in yacht design will have its real-world debut at the Monaco Yacht Show later this month.
The Italian Sea Group, a highly bespoke shipyard based on the Italian coast facing the Tyrrhenian Sea, has revealed a single render showing the aft section of the 43.5-metre C-130 named This is It, a motor yacht it has designed for its subsidiary Tecnomar Yachts.
The new aluminium model is the first of Technomar’s Project Visionary models that it said would be like an Italian villa on the water.
This is It will feature flour decks that blend outdoor and indoor spaces using floor-to-ceiling windows for enclosed spaces. The aft section will feature terraces and wide staircases to create a vertical garden that looks like it was plucked off the rugged cliffs of the Amalfi coastline.
“The spacious owner’s area, in addition to a large skylight with an extraordinary height of 3.3 metres and a superb panoramic terrace, features a special vertical garden spanning two decks, giving the feeling of being in a seaside villa,” The Italian Sea Group said.
“Leather and Alcantara, oak and teak, dialogue with the sinuous shapes, marked by bold geometric cuts and grey marble inserts.
“The dominant mood is dynamic, in motion, enveloping and sporty, yet the colour palette is also elegant and refined, in which light tones of beige and platinum grey prevail.
“The precious accent is provided by the combined use of noble metals such as gold, bronze, titanium and carbon in contrast to the calmness of the natural wood tones and leather finishes.”
The aluminium superstructure of This is It was optimised to minimise weight to make up for the extensive use of glass – more than 600 square metres of it – as well as push the boundaries of design, and evoke “fantastic sea creatures”.
At 43.5 metres long and 14.5 metres wide, This is It will be able to accommodate up to 12 passengers in extreme comfort. There will also be room onboard for up to 11 crew to make sure life aboard runs smoothly.
The Monaco Yacht Show will run from September 27-30.
