Hurricane pontoon boats expand to include budget, performance, luxury lines

Aqua Patio, Sanpan and Sweetwater brands to join Hurricane Boats Australia’s local line-up

The Australian distributor for the Hurricane line of pontoon boats has added three new brands to its showroom, covering everything from the cheapest entry-level model to uberluxury range-toppers.

Hurricane Boats Australia has added Gregory Boats brands including the Aqua Patio, Sanpan and Sweetwater deck boats to its portfolio of lifestyle and leisure-focused products.

This expands the Australian pontoon boat model range to include a cut-price entry-level brand (Sweetwater), a performance-focused range (Aqua Patio), and all the way up to the wet bar-equipped (Sanpan).

The Aqua Patio range even includes a version that sports a top deck and a slide, as well as a specialist wakeboarding model.

The expansion now gives Hurricane Boats Australia customers the choice from more than 165 different pontoon boat models in more than 150 different configurations.

New models

Hurricane Boats Australia said the Sweetwater Sunrise line was an entry-level pontoon boat, with a mid-level range called Sweetwater, and the top of the line Sweetwater Premium.

The Aqua Patio range will be the “sensational sporty and fun line of pontoon boats, including a special wakeboard edition called the XP, with a wake tower, top quality upholstery, upgraded speakers and more,” Hurricane Boats Australia said. “Then there’s the Aqua Patio SDP which comes with a hardtop and a slide for hours of family fun.”

Sanpan 2500 RL

The Sanpan line, meanwhile, “is considered a supremely elegant pontoon boat, with luxurious finishes throughout, fridges and bars, reclining lounges and various options. Sanpan has just released the new 28-foot pontoon boat with twin optional 350hp engines – the pinnacle of quality, style and performance”.

The next shipment of boats to Australia, due soon, will include the Hurricane FunDeck 236 WB using a 200hp Yamaha outboard that provides enough performance to push the pontoon boat to a top speed of 37 knots.

Joining it will be a range-topping Hurricane SunDeck 2400, a 7.3-metre deep vee-hulled bowrider with room for up to 12 passengers. It comes equipped with a 250hp Yamaha outboard capable of hitting 42 knots, and a fishing package that includes a removable bow-mounted fishing seat, and rod holders.

Hurricane Boats Australia said it would have a number of pontoon boats on display at next year's Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
