Tooling has begun for the introduction of a new Caribbean 29' Flybridge and Runabout Pro-Series fitted with either a single XXL or dual XL outboards.
This has been achieved by the development of a hull extension to the existing C27 (which will still be available in sterndrive configuration).
The extension features an integrated FRP outboard well, swim platform and transom door. This integrated hull extension design has been widely researched in Australia and overseas for maximum efficiency and performance.
The development of this new model has been largely driven by a worldwide move towards outboards on larger and particularly permanently moored boats where a fully tilted leg is an obvious advantage, explains Caribbean.
Another advantage of this outboard configuration is the greatly enhanced cockpit area together with an optional transom door which is achieved as a result of having no sterndrive engine box. The maximum recommended horsepower rating is 450hp.
Bearing in mind that only electronic-controlled outboards are suitable for dual station controls, the C2900 O/B runabout will be fitted with the standard lower console and the F/B model with a F/B station only. This may over time lend itself to a review of the lower layout, says Caribbean.
C2400 INTERIOR UPGRADES, TOO
Meantime, in line with recent interior upgrades to the C2300, Reef Runner and Cavalier, the upgraded C2400 now features FRP cockpit side panels as standard.
Caribbean has also introduced an underfloor 'kill tank' (last pic above) which has a 200-litre capacity, drain as standard and can also be fitted with an optional overboard macerator discharge pump.
