The Horizon RP100 superyacht, the centrepiece of Horizon Yacht Australia’s 2021 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show display, has been sold to a Gold Coast buyer – on the day the show opened.
Horizon Yachts Australia announced yesterday that the 30-metre luxury motor yacht, believed to be worth around $12.9 million, had sold even before the show’s official opening ceremony on Thursday morning had ended.
Buyers were out in force on Thursday, with many brands anecdotally reporting either strong interest or sales for boats on display. Organisers behind the show say it’s likely to be a record opening day turn-up.
Horizon Yacht Australia director Mark Western said he was not surprised the RP100 – the “RP” stands for “raised pilothouse” – had sold on the first day of the show.
“Superyachts of this calibre are hard to come by in Australia at the moment, so we were quietly confident she was going to sell at the show,” Western said.
“The RP Series is one of the most popular in the Horizon range that has been sold into Australia in the past 12 years.
“The traditional timeless design, unrivalled offshore performance and long-range cruising capabilities left the HYA team confident leading into the boat show that the stunning vessel would not last long on the market,” he said.
