Honda's new mid-range outboard

A lightweight four-stroke 60hp motor joins line-up

The one-litre three-cylinder Honda BF60 outboard weighs just 110kg and the giant Japanese manufacturer claims it outperforms any other motor in its class.

Slotting in between the widely-acclaimed BF40/50 and the BF75/90 models, the BF60 incorporates electronic fuel-injection, Honda's trademarked BLAST (boosted low-speed torque air/fuel ratio and ignition timing) technology and lean-burn control.

The company claims these combine to produce powerful start-up and acceleration and outstanding economy while cruising.

High performance gears contribute to the engine's impressive acceleration and top speed.

The engine is available in either remote control or tiller versions. The multifunction tiller handle incorporates a power trim-tilt switch conveniently located in the throttle grip.

The motor exceeds the latest US EPA emissions standards and is covered by Honda's five year warranty.

The motor should be available through Honda's national marine dealerships later this year.
