Considered the second-biggest yacht builder in the world, Hanse has released four new models that the German yard says: "signal a new era of the brand and pave the way into the future."
The four new models — the 348, 388, 418 and 548 — claim to be faster, more convenient, more luxurious and even easier to use. Since the release of the Hanse 291 in 1993, the brand hasn’t been backwards in coming forwards with new models.
Philosophically, Hanse says the four new yachts have been developed around the four elements from ancient Greece — air, fire, water and earth — to ignite passion among today’s sailors.
In respect of fire, the new Hanse yachts have been designed for the sun and are equipped with large portholes and windows, as well as skylights in the bathrooms.
On the water, the new yachts are said to possess perfect hydrodynamics from designers Judel/Vrolijk & Co, with pre-balanced rudders and slim L-keels for more lift on upwind courses.
Hanse says moving air is the element that drives us and, in order to embrace this element even more, the new Hanse yachts have been fitted with higher masts and larger sail plans. This results in even higher speeds, while the large sailing area can be easily be reduced by a single-line reefing system.
The press release goes on to say earth is our home and never fails to enthral us with all of its colours and shapes. In the summertime, the Hanse is the home for family and friends and boasts plenty of comfort and modern design.
Roseo Design has compiled a high quality interior for more luxury and attractiveness below deck.
THE FOUR NEW MODELS
A redesigned range from 35-55ft with greater performance
Hanse 348: At 10.40m in length and with a 3.55m beam, the Hanse 348 is the smallest yacht in the new fleet, yet the yard says it boasts the same luxury and value as its three bigger cousins. There is a sporty deck profile, large panorama window in the saloon and a big yacht feel.
Hanse 388: Six hull windows on this 38 footer flood the elegant interior with daylight. With a sailing area of 67.5sq m, the 388 is said to be both an aesthetically pleasing and fast.
Hanse 418: Besides the high rig and the tailored interior, the windows in the aft hull sections and the glass panels alongside the companionway make the new Hanse 418 stand out.
The four new models with premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 12.
