'Hammo' Notice Of Race Released

The release of the Notice of Race for Audi Hamilton Island Race Week 2007 has revealed some of the changes being planned for the regatta, which will be staged in August

Organisers have made the regatta schedule so that it now has the longest of the around-the-islands races, the Coral Sea Race, moved to day three, and the Lay Day for all classes posted for the following day. The regatta’s Whitehaven Beach Party, will be held on August 23.

Two divisions have undergone name changes: Premier Cruising division is now Premier IRC, and the IRC Cruising division has become the IRC Cruiser/Racer division.

Regatta director Denis Thompson has also eased the safety requirement for the longest race to the more appropriate Category 3 standard. Category 5 will apply for all other races. A non-professional Corinthian division will be included for the Sydney 38 One Design class.
