From the classifieds: Halvorsen 46 Game Fisher 'Nooroo II'

One of the most famous and finely crafted Halvorsens in stunning condition, repowered and fully refitted

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, not only to buy a simply stunning Halvorsen cruiser — which has been recently upgraded to the highest standard with no expense spared by her fastidious owner — but also to acquire a special hand-built boat that embodies immense history.

This stunning Halvorsen 46 Game Fisher Nooroo II was launched on June 20, 1966, to a Harvey Halvorsen design for John Toohey and his family, and became famous taking charters on Sydney Harbour.

The VIP guests' list read like a who's-who and the beautiful boat also starred in the TV series Riptide. She has entertained many of the social elite, including Prince Charles, not to mention fished her way up and down the coast of Australia with great success.

Unlike many of her counterparts, Nooroo II has just undergone a major refit and is now a turnkey, drive-away proposition.

Upgrades include and not limited to two new D6 Volvos at 300hp each with only 89 hours, new Simrad electronics (touch screen) package, new Onan Genset, decks and varnish all upgraded and treated, new upholstery, invertors, batteries, new chargers, covers, new stainless steel ultra anchor and the list goes on and on.

Step on board and you will not only experience Australian history, but also find all the mod cons you would expect to see in a new boat. She even has a pop-up saloon TV with a sound bar to provide the perfect ambience for any social engagement.

Nooroo II has a stunning entertaining flybridge also fitted with new upgraded electronics, Volvo digital engine display, electronic controls and ultra soft cream vinyl seating. New flybridge carpet has just been fitted.

Built originally as a serious offshore game boat, the 46ft Halvorsen’s cockpit is huge and, as a result, offers the perfect area for family and friends to wine and dine in five-star timber-boat luxury.

Decks are laid with natural wide plank teak and in as new condition. The foredeck is also teak laid and offers a simply stunning area to relax and unwind with a cold drink.

There is not a lot more that we can say about Nooroo II other than this is one very special boat that oozes character and charm, while adding all the mod cons needed for a special time on the water.

"It is rare to come across such a boat that has been so tastefully restored and is ready to use now, and not a project waiting to happen," says the dealer Steve Batton. "If you have a soft spot in your heart for the finer things in life, come and inspect Nooroo II at SBM (at The Spit in Sydney and by appointment).

"Dreams do come true every now and again and Nooroo II is waiting for a new owner to continue the legacy this historic vessel has enjoyed since being launched in 1966. This is without question a boat you would be proud to call yours"
