Hallett Ski-Master

Priced under $20,000, the 4.5m Ski-Master is the base model in the marque's range and is aimed squarely at the entry-level social skier. It has been one of the best sellers in the Hallett stable for over a decade, along with the tournament-oriented 17ft Executive and more recently, the Elite 1710.

The Ski-Master shares its hull with the popular outboard-powered Viper skiboat. Like the Viper, the Ski-Master has the same sportscar-like personality and is designed so that it can be launched, retrieved and manoeuvred by one person if necessary, Hallett's Danny Timewell told Trailer Boat.

Along with an integrated instrument panel and tinted windscreen, it's a classy compact boat, he says.

Passenger seating is standard social skiboat fare with a rear-facing observer's seat and an aft lounge that seats three to four, catering for social days on the water. The helm chair is adjustable and bucket-style.

Standard features include velour interior, upholstered ski pockets, large forward storage compartment, height adjustable sports-style steering wheel and marine carpet.

The exterior is finished with gelcoat, personalised graphics and a choice of colours and designs.

At the transom is an integrated swim platform. Recessed bow handle and stainless steel fasteners are standard fare.

The options list includes full boat cover, barefoot bar and guide poles.

The standard engine package is a fully reconditioned marinised 350 Chev with dog clutch. A new 350 Chev is an option and other engine choices include a V-six inboard or MerCruiser installation.

Fitted with the 350 Chev engine, the Ski-Master has a top speed of around 90kmh.

The Ski-Master is packaged with a single axle EasyTow trailer with custom pinstriping and mechanical disc brakes.
