Haines Hunter up for grabs

Annual Snapper Classic offers $45,000 in cash and prizes

The Altona Boating and Angling Club's annual Snapper Classic in Victoria next weekend (11-13 December) will see more than 700 anglers congregate at Hobsons Bay, all hoping to walk away as winners -- even if they don't catch a fish.

A Haines Hunter 475 Profish (pictured) valued at $25,000 will be the major prize and all adult anglers in the competition will be in the draw to win.

Based at Cresser Reserve, Altona, the competition will start at 6pm on Friday, December 11, and finish at 1pm on Sunday. Entry is open to anyone interested for $45 for adults and $25 for children aged 5 to 15. Fishing is restricted to Port Phillip Bay and may be done from a boat, pier. breakwater, jetty or shoreline.

The Altona Boating and Angling Club is supported in the competition by the Port Phillip Boating Centre, Bendigo Bank, Altona Village Traders Association, Big M and a range of other sponsors.

The presentation of prizes, including the lucky draw for the Haines Hunter 475 Profish, will take place at 3pm on Sunday.
