Yamaha said the new F300-powered Haines Hunter is an excellent platform for the versatility of its latest V8 outboard, with the rig destined for family fishing and cruising duties in around Cairns in Far North Queensland.
The new F300 outboard arrived in Australia following the local release of the world-first F350 four-stroke V8 outboard, said Yamaha. The company added that by offering new power options for large trailerboats, the V8 F350 and 300 are now replacing sterndrive engines for greater fuel economy, power to weight performance plus ease of operation and servicing.
An inspection of the F300 reveals few differences compared to the 350hp F350, said Yamaha, with the key change being the power output - the F300 delivering 300hp which provides a high-torque power choice for trailerboat owners limited by horsepower ratings.
By providing two horsepower variants on this V8 package, Yamaha said it has opened up new markets for offshore boat owners looking to propel large boats without sacrificing on weight, deck space, fuel use and environmental emissions associated with sterndrive power.
Yamaha said its F300 is an exceptional match for the Haines Hunter Patriot which has a maximum horsepower rating and transom weight of 320hp and 500kg respectively.
