Haines continues to grow

The Haines Group, the Queensland based manufacturer of a range of popular fibreglass trailer boats, says the boom in recreational boating is set to continue after it crashed through the waves of the recent world economic crisis.

John Haines, the chairman and CEO of the Haines Group, says the strength of the company's production of its three lines of boats -- the Signature, Traveller and Seafarer -- was the reason why it continued to build boats through the economic crisis.

"Our order book was never empty during the GFC," Haines says, "It is testament to our product that our boats were still in demand ever during those challenging times in 2008-09."

"Australian boaties have always appreciated quality and it is the quality of our boats that has given our family and family of employees pride in their employment over more than 50 years," Haines says, "Our motto in the factory is 'Build it as if you are going to own it' and our team does exactly that.”

All Haines boats are manufactured in Queensland on the company's 10 acre site by a dedicated Australian workforce. Such is the company's commitment to research and development and dedicated professional service to customers and dealers that a new office building was constructed on the company's site last year to house the ever growing number of office-based employees.

"We got to the stage were a new office building was a necessity rather than a luxury," Haines says.

Managing director Greg Haines says the boating business is booming again and Haines has introduced its own finance company, Haines Group Impressions Finance, to assist customers who are looking for a new boat this summer.

"We have a range of vessels to suit almost all needs and budgets from 2.4 metres in our Walker Bay inflatable boats to 7.7 metres in our Signature range," Greg Haines says, "Whether you are looking for a tender, a fishing boat, a cruiser or a day boat for watersports the Haines Group's family of brands has something to suit."
