Greenline Yachts, the Slovenian boat maker known for its green push on the water via its electric and hybrid motors, has teased a range of outboard-equipped models that will soon join its line-up.
Dubbed the Greenline Neo, the new outboard models will include the choice of open, hard-top and coupe configurations, with modular construction allowing Greenline to offer either a lounge or sunbed in the bow.
But back to those outboards. Little detail is provided in the release about how the new configuration fits into Greenline’s eco-friendly image, with the 10.99m LOA models powered using twin battery-powered Torqeedo outboards providing a top speed of 17 knots. In range-extended mode and trawling along at 5kt, the all-electric Greenline Neo – featuring a diesel generator – will roam as far as 180nm, “which can completely diminish any range anxiety”. At that speed, you may be late for lunch, though.
If burning hydrocarbons is more your thing, owners can swap out for twin Mercury outboards producing up to 300hp (224kW) for a top speed of 40kt “thanks [in part] to the phenomenal hull shape”.
The engines, or motors in the case of our electron-fuelled options, are mounted inside a swim deck that lowers into the water. How owners tilt the units to lift them out of the water when laid up isn’t explained.
The interior exudes usual Greenline quality and attention to detail, including three chairs across the bridge for the driver and two passengers.
“Fluidity of social areas onboard are without boundaries,” Greenline said. “The new Neo introduces a unique central cockpit and positioned wetbar where the ‘chef of the day’ and all 14 guests on board can cultivate the perfect atmosphere for a full day of entertainment.
“Intimacy is ensured by the full-size cabin or large U-shaped settee in the lower deck, and of course, there is also a spacious ensuite bathroom,” it said.
Greenline sticks to its energy-efficient roots, offering the Neo range with a 1.2kW solar panel array. This, it says, will be saving owners on electricity fees at marinas, automatically topping up the battery on swing moorings, and providing noise-free power when at anchor.
“...You can leave your fridge on permanently without the fear of running out of power with 600A/h of battery power and regulated solar power,” it said.
The Greenline Neo range will start making its appearance at overseas boat shows in the next few months.
