Mercury outboards have once again proved their undeniable ski-racing prowess -- claiming three key wins at the NSW Ski Racing Titles held at Wisemans Ferry, NSW.
The ever reliable Tuff n Nuff (a.k.a Team 50) took both the Formula II and MOC crowns, powered by a Mercury 300XS which is several seasons old but still more than up to the task.
Driver Brent Wisemantel and observer Andrew Fyfe combined with Daniel Cotton to collect the Formula II crown in 19min 43sec, some 18 seconds clear of their next rival.
They then towed Jack Houston to a win in the MOC class, taking it in 16:8 to lead home a Mercury trifecta with Pure Velocity 40 seconds back in second place and 99 Psycho Clowns claiming third, just nine seconds away.
Mercury’s other great result was in the ultra-competitive SMOC category, with Mercury Pro XS -- powered by an OptiMax Pro XS 250 -- taking the title for the second year in a row
Mercury Pro XS finished more than a minute clear of the field, with driver Peter Lewis and observer David Males bringing Chris Stout across the line in 18:49.
