The recent Grant Torrens International Marine Motor Yacht and Lifestyle Display at Sovereign islands was a colossal success, with hundreds of people flocking to see the latest big boys' toys and luxury motor yachts ranging from trailerable boats to 115 foot superyachts.
“How positive the show was, with the biggest attendance record to date... constantly seeing clients returning the following day for second and third appointments to purchase a vessel,” said an excited Grant Torrens.
Not only was there $70 million dollars worth of luxury boats but the lawn display was a $30 million dollar extravaganza of Chopperline helicopters, Sunshine Aston Martins, Bruce Lynton BMWs, classic cars, EuroDrive Porches, Mercedes, ski boats, Stefan’s Offshore race boat, and American muscle cars supplied by Peter Leahy’s Classic Imports and Geezers Garage.
Grant Torrens International Marine had a lot to celebrate this year with the opening of the new Super Yacht Marina, which had just been completed in time for the show. The new extension has eight berths for super yachts up to 120’.
Among the prestige motor yachts on display and for sale was the 115’ Lloyds Corporate Motor Yacht, undoubtedly one of Australia’s luxurious charter motor yachts, Emerald Lady, a 2006 Benetti. The grand saloon feature of four five-carat emeralds, encased in a mirrored wall to form a southern cross, is a great feature.
On the immense flying bridge, Emerald Lady has a grand entertaining area and helipad that housed a Robinson R22 Beta II chopper during the show.
Another stand out of the show was the F1 silver high-performance 82 foot catamaran Hairazor with white hull made from carbon fibre, Kevlar composite materials and an end-grain balsa core. The boat that big should really weigh 90 tonnes but instead weighs 26 tonnes -- so she is unbelievably economical on fuel.
The 75 foot Lazzara LSX is a totally luxurious sports yacht with modern features and an atrium style galley. She is powered by four IPS engines, the only quad set up in Australia.
Organisers say the Grant Torrens International Marine’s Luxury Lifestyle Show is an event not to be missed. The event will again be held in late May next year to coincide with the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. Grant Torrens International Marine is open seven days a week.
