The business development grant will be used by the Invercargill-based boat manufacturer to increase its presence in the US market through the production of marketing materials, attendance at trade shows and market visits.
Stabi-Craft Marine managing director, Paul Adams, said a great deal of work had gone into researching and preparing a business plan aimed at expanding its US market, and he was delighted this was recognised by NZ Trade and Enterprise.
"It has really given us the boost and added confidence to push ahead with our plans for the American market," said Adams.
Brochures and promotional material such as DVDs need to be tailor-made for the American market which works in feet, inches and pounds rather than metric.
Stabi-Craft Marine currently has four dealerships in the USA and, with the help of the Government fund, is looking to expand that network further.
NZ Trade and Enterprise is the government's economic development agency funded by the Ministry of Economic Development.
