The new GB 54EU will be ready for sea trials at the boat builder’s Malaysian yard in late June. If you are interested in inspecting or testing the new 54, Grand Banks Australia says come along on their upcoming factory tour in June. Spaces are limited, so be quick to reserve your space!
Meantime, here’s the factory’s 54EU progress report:
Each new day seems busier than the last as teams continue to work on new models at the GB factory –- including the 54 Heritage EU. The first 54EU in production hit an important milestone last week: decking, hull and deckhouse are joined together during the construction process.
Recently the engines, transmissions and wiring harnesses were installed for the V-drive system, along with other major mechanical and electrical systems.
Interior modules have been built, finished and fitted into place within the hull. And construction and assembly of many other parts throughout the vessel has been completed or is currently in progress.
There's still lots more to come, of course –- watch for another update coming soon when 54EU-001 completes her Stage 2 Inspection and makes her move out to the finishing shed.
Until then, enjoy our behind-the-scenes photo of this new Heritage Series flagship in production.
