Grady-White Canyon 336

A real standout, Grady-White introduces an all-new 33-foot centre console, the Canyon 336 - with size, style, ride, amenities and solid offshore capability, says the big American boatbuilder

When a brand new model comes to market that energizes a longstanding and highly competitive category of boats, take a very close look!

In the centre console sportsfishing category, Grady-White says its new 33-foot Canyon 336 has upped the ante on innovation, and continues the high standards and attention to detail that deliver the long-term value and genuine satisfaction that customers embrace.

The proven SeaV2 hull developed with C. Raymond Hunt and Associates delivers a ride that is beyond any other in the class, said Grady-White.

"The Canyon 336 brings together what customers and dealers have asked for in a big, powerful centre console that blends comfort and convenience with first-class fishing features to ensure success on those long offshore trips," says David Neese, vice president of engineering at Grady-White.

"This boat is a stand-out with an innovative helm and seating, super cockpit arrangement, and a lockable console interior filled with great features including a berth.

"While the 336 is available with twin Yamaha F250 four-stroke engines, with the newly available F350 four-stroke Yamahas she just hums along and cruises efficiently at over 30mph with a top speed over 50mph," Neese said.

"To begin with," says Joey Weller, Grady-White director of sales and marketing, "the lean bar/helm seating is different than what you typically see.

"The helm seat is on the centreline instead of situated to port so passengers can easily come and go on either side of the helm and not have to squeeze by, making tending bait, fishing lines and dock lines effortless.

"Throttles and controls are up front and centre. The electromechanically operated electronics enclosure is adjustable to suit any helmsman's viewing height, or weather conditions and time of day.

"Complete protection is provided for electronics when the enclosure is lowered. Plus, the sleek all-new fibreglass T-top option offers the offshore fisherman a radio box, rodholders, radial mounted outriggers, net storage (great for PFDs), a dome light, moulded-in sound system speakers plus moulded-in spreader lights fore and aft.

"There is even a 4kW diesel generator option that powers air conditioning in the helm area and console interior," Weller said.

The helm seating support structure has the added benefit of providing additional space for fishing features. For starters, aft of the companion seat is a 170lt lighted livewell with an 4164lt/h pump and full column aeration - a proven system for lively bait.

The livewell drains overboard for easy clean up, as do all Grady boxes. The area also incorporates a rigging station with freshwater washdown, a 98lt cooler, tackle drawers, six rodholders, and bulk storage. An option is a 98lt second livewell in lieu of the cooler.

With the aft foldaway bench seat stowed, the Canyon aft cockpit measures a roomy 7.43m². With six rodholders on the gunwale, six rodholders on the lean bar and five more in the T-top, more than enough tackle is ready to go, said Grady-White.

Add two freshwater outlets, a cutting board atop the 275lt aft fishbox, a pressurized raw water washdown, a big fibreglass transom door, and you will see that the aft cockpit is a bait rigger's delight. The aft fishbox is offered with a refrigerator/freezer option including digital thermostat temperature controls.

The bow anchor, windlass and anchor locker package makes moving from one spot to another nearly effortless, said Grady-White. Anchor operation is controlled from the helm or from the windlass area. The anchor and rode rest in an easy accessed locker out of the way - a safety plus. The overboard-draining locker means less maintenance, too.

The bow area also features 156lt insulated fishboxes port and starboard that double as seating. Comfortable cushioned seating for three is just forward of the console.

The lockable console has a stand-up head enclosure with standard VacuFlush, deep sink, freshwater shower, and optional microwave.

There is a berth that extends forward, and a screened window provides ventilation and optional air conditioning adds to the comfort.

The whole area looks great, too, with teak accents and a teak cover over the head itself, said the boatbuilder. Access to the switch box and boat systems controls is inside the console door, and features color-coded wiring.

"Consider the trademark SeaV2 ride, the new highly efficient power options, Grady-White's hallmark safety features and incredible structure. Then add superior hardware including a handsome stainless steel rubrail insert," says Neese.

"Together, with specifications like a 1325lt fuel capacity, you have to conclude that the 336 is a super boat dedicated to fishermen who want the very best. The name ‘canyon' is very apt for a long-range fishing boat with the comfort features doubling as a great family day boat, too!" he said.

Grady-White builds 22 boat models from 18 to 36 feet at its plant in Greenville, North Carolina.
