GOLD COAST MARINE EXPO: Summerland 40 LR
A truly liveable and frugal French powercat on show at this year's Gold Coast ExpoFountaine Pajot Motor Yachts’ new Summerland 40 Long Range (LR) has been declared Boat of the Year at the French 2014 Moteur Boat Awards.
The power catamaran won the title against a strong field of finalists in the ‘Liveable Boats’ category, which comprised motor yachts ranging from 29 to 45 feet. The smart catamaran impressed the judges with its exceptional interior space, outstanding stability, and its performance in the choppy judging conditions.
The Summerland 40 LR was also praised for its remarkable accommodation, particularly the three designer double cabins and its decadent owner’s cabin that boasts a panoramic "sea view." Sleek and contemporary interior design, autonomy, responsiveness, and excellent fuel consumption, using 40 per cent less than monohulls of comparable size, are other attributes.
The award-winning Summerland 40 LR will be on display by Multihull Solutions in the Asia Pacific region at the upcoming Auckland On Water Boat Show from September 25-28 and also at the Gold Coast International Marine Expo from October 17-19.
