Seakeeper's latest generation of gyroscopic stability control will make its Australian premiere at the 2015 Gold Coast International Marine Expo.
Trevor Tucker, sales manager of Australian distributor Twin Disc (Pacific), said the Seakeeper is the most effective stabilisation system ever built.
"Until now, owners of smaller boats put up with a rolling vessel in rough weather, or simply stayed ashore," he said. "With the launch of the state-of-the-art Seakeeper 5 at the Expo, they now enjoy the comfort and safety of gyro stabilisation in a wide range of sea states – no more white knuckles while moving through a vessel or getting thrown around on-board.
"Seakeeper provides boat owners with significantly improved ride whether the boat is at planing speed or at anchor and, unlike fin-based roll stabilisation systems whose performance decreases sharply at less than cruising speed, the Seakeeper works equally well from zero to full speed," he said.
Based on the same technology used in spacecraft and also in larger vessels, the scaled down Seakeeper 5 uses a built-in computer to actively control a powerful gyro. Spinning in a vacuum environment, it produces powerful righting forces to stabilise the boat.
"The Seakeeper 5 requires only modest electrical power, has no outside appendages, and can be installed off centreline, if necessary," said Mr Tucker. "Its computerised control and vacuum technology make it the first truly practical, and only modern, anti-roll gyro.
"Quite simply, once you’ve experienced a Seakeeper at work you’ll never want to buy a boat without it."
Twin Disc (Pacific) has also confirmed it would be exhibiting the innovative Express Joystick System and Express Positioning technology at the 2015 Expo.
