Gold Coast Marine Expo opens today

More than 190 exhibitors, hundred of boats, family friendly and free
The Gold Coast Marine Expo opens 10am today with more than 190 exhibitors, entertainers and vendors creating an exciting atmosphere at the local marine precinct.

BoatPoint.com.au and Boatsales.com.au are the official media partners and major sponsors. We'll be reporting after Day One of the show.
Hundreds of boats ranging in size from kayaks to superyachts are on display and for sale including more than 120 luxury boats in the floating displays.
Meanwhile, Riviera is preparing for the launch of its 5000th boats at a special gala dinner tonight.
To demonstrate how far it’s come, Riviera will display one of its very first boats ever built -- a 1980-model 38 Flybridge MKI -- alongside the 5000th boat.
Riviera will host live seminars showing its luxury-boat construction from 3D computer-aided design to the end product. Its expert engineers and naval architects will explain the latest in marine technology in an interactive way.
Another highlight is Gold Coast City Marina’s 50 tonne marine travel lift, which will hoist a 54 foot Alaska motor cruiser out of the water and manoeuvre it safely back into the water. Oodles more boats and services will be on display here.
Quintrex factory tours today at 9am, 10.30am, 12pm and 2pm will demonstrate the aluminium boat-building process.  Experienced welders will be crafting Australia’s favourite aluminium boats before your eyes.
Tomorrow night’s Shipyard Party is always a popular event with free admission. Them there are the Artists’ Quarter Charity Art Auction and the spectacular fireworks display at 7pm.
The Little Pirates Kids’ Club will once again entertain the children with jumping castle and face painting, and there will also be a host of international food stalls and live entertainment.
Held by the marine industry for the betterment of the industry and the boating public at large, the Gold Coast Marine Expo is a not-for-profit, family-friendly, community-focused event.
Entry is free entry as is the parking. Organisers are asking people to give a gold coin donation in support of the Expo’s charities, which include the Rotary Club of Coomera River, Wasp Creek Rural Fire Service, Paradise Kids, Sailability, and the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter Rescue Service.
The Gold Coast International Marine Expo will be held all weekend. More at www.gcmarineexpo.com.au or just rock up.
