Respected marque Nordhavn has joined the growing list of long-range motoryachts and passagemakers that will be on show at the biggest-ever Gold Coast International Marine Expo in May.
Nordhavn confirmed the only late model N52 model currently available in the world will be on display exclusively at Expo from May 19-22, 2016, after a "great experience" in 2015.
"The N52 has the ability to take her owners anywhere they wish to travel in safety, comfort and luxury, whilst handling whatever Mother Nature throws at her along the way," said Nordhavn Australasia general manager Peter Devers.
"Much of the Nordhavn 52’s popularity has to do with its just-right size — it has big-boat range and comfort but it’s not overwhelming for a cruising couple to operate.
LONG-RANGE BOATS
Expo will feature a good spread of other displacement, semi-displacement, trawler, long-range and high-performance yachts across its two marinas.
The big-boat brands intending to exhibit include Belize, Clipper Cordova, Explorer, Hudson Bay, Leopard and Marlow.
"Expo will be an unprecedented experience for real boating enthusiasts," said Event & Marketing Manager Emma Brown, who grew up on her parent's Island Gypsy 44 pottering about around the Hawkesbury.
"Over 500 yachts and boats will be showcased on the land and across our two Expo marinas. Visitors will in awe at the incredibly diverse displays from over 230 exhibitors across our giant 3km Expo display circuit.
HEAPS OF GEAR AND ENTERTAINMENT
Expo will also showcase the latest electronic navigation and technology spanning fish-finders, depth-sounders, night-vision cameras, underwater lighting, chart-plotters, gyroscopic stabilisers, anchoring systems and water-makers,” she said.
For boat owners, there are a host of established and emerging marine businesses that can provide equipment replacements and upgrades, repowering solutions, highly specialised repairs as well as fully customised refits.
The Gold Coast International Marine Expo – named 2015’s Best Exhibition at the Australian Event Awards – will also feature family fun attractions and live interactive demonstrations every 15 minutes – on the water, on the land and even in the air.
This year, visitors who purchase tickets online will have to win a $40,000 boating package. More at gcmarineexpo.com.au.
