GOLD COAST MARINE EXPO: Mercury-powered trailerboat trials

Mercury promotion offers a free try-before-you-buy in-water trial at Expo every day

At the Gold Coast International Marine Expo opening May 19, Mercury will be offering the ‘Mercury Edge’ initiative where families can experience the difference for themselves by sea trialling a wide range of Mercury outboards across a range of boats, with no charge and with no obligation.

The free event will be run all day, every day, from 9.00am at location W202-W211. It doesn’t matter if your looking for your next Mercury outboard or if you are completely new to boating, Mercury says it would love to show you just what their engines can do on the water.

At Expo, you can also one of the very first to experience Mercury’s Active Trim and the new 115hp ProXS FourStroke outboard.

The Mercury Edge will be represented by seven dealers, with outboard sea trials on boating brands including Quintrex, Haines Hunter Extreme, Bluefin, Black Watch, Savage, AB Inflatable  Sea Adex, Angler Pro, Streaker, Evolution, Revival and also Misty Harbour Pontoon Boats.

"It doesn’t matter if your family is looking for your next Mercury outboard or if you are completely new to boating, we’d love to show you just what our engines can do on the water," Mercury's Wil Wilesmith.

Event & Marketing Manager Emma Brown said it is exciting that the world’s leading manufacturer of marine propulsion engines is supporting the growing Expo and its vision of encouraging more families to enjoy all the rich and rewarding benefits of the boating life.

"We are very excited that Mercury Marine will be at Expo in 2016 for the first time as a corporate entity and the extensive Mercury outboards range will be showcased and sea-trialled exclusively in May here at Australia’s boating industry capital, the Gold Coast Marine Precinct at Coomera.

"Mercury Marine will be taking a 50-metre frontage at the Gold Coast City Marina site for their sea trials each day of the Expo from 9am-4pm."

"Visitors to the biggest-ever Expo in 2016 also have the chance to win our biggest-ever boating prize — a $40,000 family boating package — thanks to the support of Surf Coast Marine and Broadwater Boating Centre," said Mrs Brown.

Simply visit www.gcmarineexpo.com.au to purchase your Expo tickets and you could win a ready-to-launch prize package of 2016 Quintrex 490 Cruiseabout, a full range of accessories including safety pack, an aluminium boat trailer and all applicable registrations.

Expo 2016 will offer factory tours of the biggest recreational shipyards and boat-builders in the Southern Hemisphere, including Quintrex and Riviera, as well as fun for the whole family.

"We will have live entertainment and interactive demonstrations every 15 minutes … on the water, on land and even in the air," she said.

Expo has extensive free car-parking right outside at the Gold Coast Marine Precinct at Coomera. Details and full program at gcmarineexpo.com.au.
