Under general manager, Colin Speairs, and a team of experienced shipyard staff, GCMC said it presents itself as a superb well-equipped facility.
It boasts a 70-tonne Boat Lift for vessels up to 70ft in length with 20ft (6.0m) beams and has unique multi-hull hydraulic-lift trailers for broad beam houseboats and catamarans.
Other facilities include concreted open hardstand and washdown bays covering more than 10,000m² and all serviced by up to three-phase power, enclosed 22.0m by 12.0m refit bays and a sandblasting bay, said GCMC.
High-tech painting facilities are provided for antifouling procedures by either roller or airless spray.
The GCMC state-of-the-art washdown bays and hardstand areas capture, treat and recycle all waste water for daily re-use, saving millions of litres of water annually from the town supply.
GCMC said that with its superb location on the Coomera River (with ocean access), its marina berth facility can accommodate 30 vessels up to 25.0m, with all berths serviced with power and freshwater.
The centre said stage three of the development is scheduled to begin with the addition of marine service units and further manufacturing factory units.
Planning is also well advanced on the construction of a 300-boat dry-storage racking system on the centre’s northern boundary, said GCMC.
There are 32 purpose-built factories, from 180 to 540m², many with mezzanine floors, covered car parking, overhead gantry cranes, and motorised roller doors with wide openings to permit Boat Lift access.
The Gold Coast Marine Centre (GCMC) is at 200 Beattie Road, Coomera.
