Gold Coast Marina wins award

Boatyard of the Year recipient "delighted"

The Gold Coast City Marina and Shipyard has won the Marina Industries Association Boatyard of the Year 2013/14 award.

The award represents excellence and leadership in the marine industry and establishes a benchmark in the industry and the wider community. The panel of judges, representing a wide section of the marine industry, selected Gold Coast City and Shipyard (GCCM) from three finalists for the national award.

The prestigious award was presented to GGCM general manager Steve Sammes at Marine13.

The GCCM shipyard manager Ryan Leigh-Smith said: "It is a delight to be recognised by our peers, and on behalf of GCCM directors we applaud the MIA on their continued proactive approach for betterment of the industry. We accept this award after thirteen years of operation and continued commitment to our ever changing commercial environment."

The Marina Industries Association (MIA) is the peak industry body in Australia for the owners, managers and operators of marinas, slipways, boatyards, berthing, mooring and other marine storage facilities and sailing and cruising boating clubs.
