The 2017 Gold Coast International Boat Show & Marine Expo opens at 9:00am today (March 17) and there's a real buzz in the air and on the water at the Gold Coast Marine Precinct in Coomera.
Billed as Queensland’s biggest boat show, and a veritable $150 million marine showcase, the show has attracted a real rush of new boat releases and a lot of excitement on the local boating scene.
From Quintrex with its radical new 530 Freestyler bowrider with all-new Apex hull design to Cobalt opening its dazzling showroom on the waterfront, from Sea-Doo with the Spark Trixx to Sea Ray, from Riviera and Marlow to Clipper and plenty of catamarans, the Gold Coast boat show and Expo has something for everyone.
Being at the Gold Coast Marine Precinct at Coomera means there’s a heap of great gear on offer, too. Fishing tackle, tubes, clothing and accessories will be a huge part of this retail show.
Organisers are expecting more than 20,000 visitors through the gates for the show and the Riviera Festival held concurrently at the adjoining boatbuilder’s yard, where hundreds of VIPs are preparing for a full program of educational classes and entertainment.
In total, there will be more than 600 boats for sale on the water and on land from in excess of 230 exhibitors in 3km-long display circuit. Along with boats for all budgets are the latest marine engines, equipment and accessories.
Formerly held in October and then May, the new March dates make the 2017 Gold Coast International Boat Show & Marine Expo the first national boat-show on the calendar and a natural place for new launches.
After all, there are more than 13,000 boats manufactured here each year, some 6000 boats are slipped, serviced, repowered, refitted or repaired, and so it’s a natural hub for marine trades, services and equipment.
The Gold Coast International Boat Show & Marine Expo is billed as 'the boat show with so much more' and, with the new dates from March 17-19, 2017, and the Boating Industry Association's backing, it's the curtain raiser for the national boat show circuit.
