GoBoat Australia, the nation’s leading electric picnic-boat experience, has been acquired by d’Albora Marinas, Australia’s largest premium marina and hospitality network
The acquisition represents a major expansion opportunity for GoBoat, strengthening its national footprint and accelerating its mission to make sustainable, self-drive boating accessible to all Australians.
Founded in 2017 by Nick Tyrrell on Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra, GoBoat has grown from a single lake operation into a national recreational powerhouse. The company now operates across six destinations with further expansion planned under the new ownership into 2026.
Since its launch, GoBoat has welcomed over 500,000 guests nationwide and operates more than 73 electric vessels, seeing vessel manufacturing onshore from 2022 supporting the local Australian marine industry since.

The partnership brings together two leading Australian marine brands, unlocking strong synergy, commercial support and enhanced customer experience across both networks.
“GoBoat’s electric boating experience perfectly complements d’Albora’s marina portfolio and will bring eco-friendly and accessible boating experiences to more Australians than ever before,” said Nick Tyrrell, the founder and CEO of GoBoat Australia.
“We’re excited to bring GoBoat’s unique sustainable offering into the d’Albora family, unlocking further growth and new opportunities into the future.”
GoBoat now operates across six destinations: d’Albora Cabarita Point, d’Albora The Spit, d’Albora Akuna Bay, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Canberra, with further expansion planned under the new ownership into 2026.
