Glacier Bay has appointed Melbourne-based company American Boat Imports (ABI) as its Australian distributor.
ABI will debut the boats at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show in May, but has already sea-trialled three in the company's multi-model range locally.
Built in 22, 26 and 34ft models, the company makes about 400 boats each year. It offers a number of configurations aimed at most boat users.
According to ABI's David Fried, Glacier Bay will largely aim at the Australian sports fishing market, but at least one of the locally-available models will be pegged at family users.
The Glacier Bay catamarans that have already landed in Australia are a single 2240SX Renegade dual-console, two 2270 Isle Runner cuddys, and a single 2670 Isle Runner.
All are trailerable (with permits) and are outboard powered.
Mr Fried said the 26-footer and one of the 2270 Isle Runners would be fully fish-rigged for display and sea-trialling purposes.
He said pricing would be competitive.
Glacier Bay's range also includes a 34ft non-trailerable model in open, hardtop, and flybridge versions. These flagship models are offered in outboard, sterndrive and shaftdrive versions in the USA.
